Tynemouth Cadets Climb The Ben

A team of cadets and staff from 346 Squadron have climbed Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK.

The team set off for Fort William, their base for their tough climb. Setting off in rain from the start, the weather didn't really improve until they had descended back to the car park.

P9190405.JPGBradley McVay 14, told us about the trek, "It was the toughest thing I've done. The weather didn't help and it would have been nice to see the view from the top. However, getting to the top was the best bit, I was really pleased with myself."

P9190406.JPGThe trip marked the 10th consecutive trip to Ben Nevis for the Tynemouth Squadron. "Every year, we give our cadets to chance to climb the highest mountain in the UK and they never let us down. It is a fantastic achievment." Squadron Commander, Will Close-Ash said.
