Tynemouth Squadron is a particularly active when it comes to adventure training. Each year, our cadets have the opportunity to climb the three biggest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales and to take part in several camping expeditions in the Lake District, Scotland and North Yorkshire.
Once a cadet has achieved this, they can apply to go on an overseas expedition. Tynemouth Squadron is the only Squadron in the North East the runs an annual overseas expedition. In the past we've run trips to the Greek Island of Crete and the Pyrenees. This year we are going to the Swiss Alps. For the past two years we've been sponsored by the clothing company Timberland as part of their Scholarship award.
Our cadets also go abseiling, canoeing, rock climbing and Nordic skiing!
